Welcome to year 1 and 2 with Mrs Bell, Mrs Tucker and Mrs Cole. We are so excited for another fantastic year of learning and look forward to welcoming back some familiar faces as well as getting to know some new ones!

Homework

Homework in year 1 and year 2 will be posted on to Google Classroom every Friday to be completed by the following Thursday. In the first 2 weeks of term children will receive a login for google classroom and for Numbots which is an app that we use for our maths homework. Children will be asked to spend a short amount of time on Numbots each week as well as practising a list of spellings and completing some reading.

Reading

Reading books will be handed out to children on a Friday. Please can you try and read with your child 3 times per week in order to help develop their reading fluency and comprehension. Please can you ensure that your child's reading book is kept in their bag as they will also be read with in school. Reading books will be collected in and changed on a Thursday.

P.E Days and Forest school

P.E days this year are on a Tuesday with Bristol sport and a Thursday with Mrs Bell. Children can come in to school dressed in their P.E kit on these days. Forest school will be on a Tuesday with Ms Daly. 

 

2 Week Wellbeing Topic

For the first 2 weeks of the term there will be a whole school well-being focus based around the book 'What We'll Build' by Oliver Jeffers. The children will complete a range of different activities related to this book.
