Reception

In the next two terms Reception will be looking at the topics of St George's Day, Weather, the Coronation, Transport, Bees, Butterflies and Seaside. In Art we will look at the work of Henri Matisse and Georgia O'Keeffe.

In Drawing Club the writing stimuli will continue to alternate between a traditional tale, a more recent story and an animated story/cartoon. In term 5 these will feature, Jack and the Beanstalk, Farmer Duck, We're Going on a Bear Hunt, The Three Little Pigs, The Magic Roundabout and Jimbo and The Jet Set.

Reception will also join Years 1 and 2 for a trip to the Aerospace Museum just before the half term break.

Year 1

Year 1 will be exploring the topic 'Come Fly With Me' by looking at aviation and technology in History and the work of Peter Thorpe in Art. In Geography the children will be looking at world mapping, continents and oceans. In Science they will continue looking at Plants.

The focus text is 'Those Magniificent Sheep in their Flying Machine' by Peter Bently.
