Terms 3 and 4

Curriculum

Over the next 2 terms, our overarching topic will be ‘London’. In our history lessons we will be looking at The Great Fire of London. We will learn about how and where the fire started and why it spread so quickly. We will also look at the diary of Samuel Pepys to help us learn more about London in 1666. In our geography lessons we will be learning about Modern London. We will think about different famous London landmarks and we will look at how the buildings in London have changed over time. In our science lessons we will be looking at plants. We will identify different kinds of wild and garden plants as well as learning about the different parts of a plant. We will also perform some simple experiments to help us understand the best conditions for plants to grow.

Termly Overview

These are the key texts we will be focussing on in our english lessons. We will start by creating poetry about the Great Fire of London. We will then create non-chronological reports about fire before moving on to creating a fictional re-telling of the fire.
